Bring up Charlie Morton.
I’m no professional, but I think he’s about ready.
Earlier this week I mentioned him and his stats have only improved since that time. Now 2-0 in eight appearances, Morton’s era has dropped down a bit more to 1.69.
On the season Morton’s only walked 15 batters in 48 innings pitched, given up only 30 hits for a total nine earned runs. Strike outs? 39 isn’t very shabby for eight appearances, averaging around six an outing. Need I mention of those nine earned runs, none of them have been due to a homerun Morton’s given up…point being no one’s been able to hit it over the fences against him.
Just a thought girls, he’s 6′4, 24 years old and no reports of a relationship.

Hasta luego Chuck James? Bienvenue Charlie Morton?

Is he even in AAA yet? I don’t think he is. And we need much more than a young kid on the mound.
Comment by bravesnuworld May 15, 2008 @ 11:40 pmWell Chuck isn’t cutting it, Smoltz is headed to relief, I personally don’t foresee much in the baseball future of Mike Hampton, and all of that leaves us with a hole. I’m just saying maybe a new baby brave could juice up the roster, although I am no expert.
Comment by Ashley May 16, 2008 @ 11:52 amAnd yes, check the link, he’s certified AAA.
Ashley, but you also want to make out with him, right?
Seriously, you do make some sense, but the Braves would be better served making a move before the trade deadline if they can remain close in the hunt for the division title or playoff spot. RIght now, they look more like a tee-ball team.
Comment by bravesnuworld May 16, 2008 @ 8:34 pmhaaa haa, surely you aren’t one of those on the bandwagon for a Maddux trade? I hardly believe he would add much to the team except maybe more warm bodies in the stands.
